Philpot sprouted from a flower shop in Dugger Indiana. Their median age is 20. "Bitch Be The World", their second CD, was released in July 2005 by Applehead Records. Bitch can be purchased at www.philpotmusic.com and at iTunes, Napster, Rhapsody, eMusic, Sony Connect and MusicNet (including Yahoo!, Cdigix, Synacor, iMesh, Virgin Digital, HMV Digital, FYE.)
In August 2006 they were signed to Toucan Cove Entertainment/Universal Records, for whom they recorded their new album, "Hate Writes Better Than Love", set for release in March 2007. Bill Klatt (Days of the New, Rolling Stones, Queens of the Stone Age, Sneaker Pimps, etc) recorded, mixed and produced the record with Philpot lead singer Kentz Ward.
Their recordings and live performances across the nation have garnered them critical acclaim. WD Dechert of Zink Magazine says: "Singer Kentz Ward is the most charismatic front man since Axl Rose...." CITYBEAT (Cincinatti) says: "Dig It: The classicism of The Beatles, Doors and Led Zeppelin and the neo-classicism of Blur, R.E.M. and Oasis.
" JR Taylor, New York Press, observes: "A band this great in a location so obscure would usually toil in sad obscurity, but this band deserves a shot, especially since the Brian Jonestown Massacre dropped the ball.
