PAUL EISEN HUETTENSTODIT 在东柏林的社区长大，在德国统一之前他就通过无线电了解西德先进的资本主义，因为他所居住的地方没有俱乐部，他只能DJ音乐去发现音乐艺术家像 THE SMITH AND NEW ORDER。
随着1989年的柏林墙的消失，海外俱乐部文化象雨后春笋般席卷了整个柏林，尽管电子音乐已经涌入，PAUL却努力寻求一种与众不同更加特别的音乐。

SEVEN WAYS也被DJ读者们在当年评选为第一，节奏感很强的单曲，如“BEAUTIFNL PLACE”，“FRBIDD，FRAIT”结合了SALT TARK和CURRE的风格于一体，使他在英国和欧洲舞曲排行榜位于第一。
The white label CD promo version of this album is one of the rarest Paul van Dyk releases (as it contains two tracks which didn't find their way onto this final version of this album). This album was Paul van Dyk's defining moment.
Seven Ways is both innovative and atmospheric. It set Paul van Dyk on the path to international fame.
It was definitely the album that would make or break him. Therefore, you can hear Johnny Klimek's and Mark Reeder's influences subliminally seeping throughout the entire album as they guide him along the way. The album was originally supposed to be mixed like a DJ mix, from 10" ascetates, but the idea was scrapped after Paul ruined them whilst playing them out.
Never credited for his work on any of his albums artistic designs, MFS label manager Mark Reeder gave Paul van Dyk his credibility as a serious and cultured artist. He was the person who not only 'discovered' Paul, but also managed to get the very best out of him as an artist and it was Reeder who chose and put together this particular albums tracklisting, as well as co-mastering it together with Wolfgang Ragwitz and adding to the general build and flow of this milestone album.
