Polly Jean Harvey (born 9 October 1969) is an English musician and songwriter.
PJ Harvey began her career as part of a trio (with drummer Rob Ellis and bassist Steve Vaughan). She has since recorded as a solo artist under the name PJ Harvey.
White Chalk is the eighth studio album by PJ Harvey.
Work on the album started in 2006, with producer Flood and John Parish, who also worked on her To Bring You My Love and Is This Desire? albums. Other collaborators on White Chalk are Eric Drew Feldman and Jim White from the Dirty Three.
It was announced on www.pjharvey.net that the first single to be released from White Chalk would be "When Under Ether". The single is scheduled to premiere on Nemone's show on BBC 6 Music August 1 at 1 pm local time. The website also gave "When Under Ether" a tentative release date for 17 September.
