The genuine excitement at hearing Mingle for the first time doesn't last
forever. But for the first few spins, at least, The Saturday Knights sound
like the future of music. The band's full-length debut boasts a stunning
array of guests, from Amy Winehouse's backing band, The Dap Kings, to
Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil. It's crazy, bone-headed fun, with a rang
of styles that are expertly played throughout. The emphasis is on fun,
particularly when they mock Black Eyed Peas on Patches, an ode to sweater
vests and Jackets with patches on their elbows.?What's not to like?
